Note:

Commemorative in circulation, this banknote commemorates the 8th anniversary of the revolution. A transparent window to the right depicts the iconic resistance leader Omar Mukhtar (1862-1931) also known as the “Lion of the Desert”. Omar was a leader of the indigenous resistance against the Italian colonization of Libya for almost twenty years until his death.
