Manuel Rodríguez Erdoyza (1785-1818), a Chilean revolutionary, has been described as the first sincere democrat to appear in Chilean politics. He worked for the independence of Chile. In the center, part of the monument dedicated to Manuel Rodríguez Erdoyza, created by sculptor Blanca Merino Lizana.
