A camel, a hut and a tower in the center. A bowl of fish on the left. The waters off the 754 kilometers of Mauritanian coast are among the richest fishing grounds in the world. The Mauritanians had historically fished little. The majority of the Moorish population ate small fish, and only the small ethnic group of Imraguen fished for their livelihood.
